Aayirathil Oruvan

Aayirathil Oruvan, produced by Dream Valley Corporations and directed by Selva Raghavan, has created a new trend in the Tamil film history. Historical movies are a tradition of Tamil movie industry. But this movie from Selva Raghavan has brought in a Historical trend movie(but nothing is from the original Tamil Historical Events) with modern age graphical touch and his own imagination.
Title: Aayirathil Oruvan
Starring: Karthik, Parthiban, Reema Sen, Andrea.
Producer: Ravendran.
Director: Selva Raghavan.
Music: G.V.Prakash Kumar.

Description:
The movie starts with the destruction of the 12th century Chola Dynasty by the Pallavas. The lonely survival, the younger prince of the last Chola king, along with some slaves and people leave the nation and moved to a place of safety, to preserve the Cholan family. The prince is well protected from the Pallavas by seven blockades created by the Chola's.
The movie then moves to the current century where Andrea's father, an archeologist, gets lost going in search of the lost Cholan city. Andrea with the help of Reema Sen(another archeologist) and Karthik(a local helper) and others go in search of Andrea's father and also the lost Cholan city and the Lonely surviving prince.
The movie with a good combination of all things like editing, music, acting, and along with Selva's great imagination matures into a fascinating experience. The movie takes us through the path of discovering the lost Cholan city and the pre-events that take place after the later part is a pretty work from the entire team of Aayirathil Oruvan.

Credits:

Selva Raghavan, the director of this movie, has always shown variations in his every movies. Along with his great works "Aayirathil Oruvan" is an master piece. He has shown his extreme talent and power of imagination. The way he brought his imagination into visualization is splendid. G.V.Prakash Kumar, has met the expectations and proved his availability in the industry. As a budding performer, Prakash has brought a good creation and rewards to his name. Karthik, starting with a mega hit Paruthiveeran, has once again came out with a realistic performance and extended his hit list. Andrea has played her part well in this movie and shown her acting to the fullest level to her contribution(irrespective of the small appearances and mostly silent).

The majority of acting credit goes to Parthiban and Reema Sen. This pair has dominated throughout the movie, particularly Reema. Reema plays her part right from the start till the end of the movie. She performed extremely good when compared to her other movies. And no matter she had scored the glamorous role and breezed through the movie. Parthiban is always noted as a good performer, and he had too not disappointed by any means.

The art director and his team has shown their hard work in the entire movie. The sets created and the rare and far locations and surroundings and the angles of the cameramen and every aspect has led to this breakthrough in Tamil movie industry. This might give a path for the Tamil cine industry's arrival into the hollywood trend. But in some cases the movie cannot meet the originality of visuals as in the hollywood movies, but definitely this is a breakthrough for the Kollywood.

Bottomline:
A good movie in many ways. Its a fine display of all round performance of a team and the hard work is found all along the movie. But the occasional flow of words with the censored buzz  from all the artists had given an uneasy smile and face twisting from different fans. The graphics could have been a little bit better. The originality of visuals is lost occasionally. But all around its an excellent team work.

RATING:7/10
